Just one week after the name 'Cairo Jordan' was added to the black granite headstone in a small cemetery in Salem, Indiana, the search for his killer continues." We're very thankful we're getting a good response, not just locally but nationwide," Indiana State Police Sgt. Carey Huls of the tips being called and emailed in.Cairo's mother, Dejuane Anderson, is wanted for his murder. Huls said ISP received more than 200 tips on her whereabouts since asking for the public's help last week. Police say Anderson killed her 5-year-old son, believing he was a demon. Then, according to investigators, she put his dead body in a suitcase and left it in a remote, wooded area in April. She's been on the run ever since, despite the efforts of various agencies."Police departments are out there, actively looking, keeping their eyes open and saying that could have been this person let's run this and see what's going on," Huls said. As the investigation continues, Cairo's father and his family, are expected to arrive to Washington County this weekend, for the first time ever. It's where the boy's body had been discovered and was later buried. On Sunday, they'll be joined by first responders and people in the community for a prayer service at a Salem church."I don't know that you ever get over the loss of a child but maybe it'll help with a little bit of the closure," one of the organizers, Holly Lawson, told WLKY.Lawson said she is grateful to know others, across the country, care enough about the little boy to call in tips."Hopefully something good comes from that and gives law enforcement what they need to take that next step. Hopefully, those tips keep coming in," she said.Huls is confident the phone will keep ringing until Dejuane Anderson is taken into custody."You have a story look this, a tragic story with a beautiful young boy, people want answers and they want justice," Huls said.Another woman, Dawn Coleman, was arrested in connection with Cairo's death on Oct. 19. She was taken into custody in San Francisco. Anderson's last known location was in Los Angeles. And police say she may look different than the released pictures, as she is known to wear wigs or hair extensions. Anyone with information is asked to call police.
